The winners of the BAIT Awards for 2019 were awarded at INTERPRED-WTC Sofia
The event was marked by the 25th anniversary of BAIT, which will be celebrated in 2020.
At the official ceremony on February 25, 2020, in the hall of Sofia at INTERPRED-STC Sofia, the winners in the different categories of the BAIT Awards for 2019 were honored.
Traditionally, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, under whose patronage the competition is being held for the next year, presented the Special Contribution Award of the TUES team to TU-Sofia. It was accepted by its director Stella Stefanova.

The Chairman of the Jury and the Chairman of the BAIT Board Ognyan Trayanov noted that the awarding of the Ninth Prizes once again "does not become easier" and "it is good that it is not easy", because for another year the applications are over 100, extremely they are strong and there are no "unworthy or accidental" ones. We do not seek to provide a certificate of quality or any points and grades, but we want to send messages. We show how far the development of IT companies in our country, our customers, our education system and the investments we all make in order to develop this ecosystem, he added.
Sofia Deputy Mayor for Digitalization, Innovation and Economic Development Vladimir Danilov presented the award in the category "Successful Bulgarian product / service". It was awarded to Transmetrix AD for the development of software for forecasting and optimization of logistic processes based on algorithms for artificial intelligence.
Ognyan Trajanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAIT presented the award in the category "Successful ICT project for the benefit of the Bulgarian economy". The award was awarded to Popov, Arnaudov & Partners Law Firm for a PAPi robot officer in the law firm.
This year, two equal prizes were presented in the category "Youth Award" - to Jordan Tsvetkov, a student of the Akad. Kiril Popov, Plovdiv for the four-legged robot for research purposes and Teodor Todorov from the Technological School "Electronic Systems" at TU-Sofia for the designed and created mechanized wheelchair.
Due to the extremely strong applications in the category, a total of five of all 14 projects submitted were nominated in order to encourage young people to seek career development in the field of information technology. All nominated young people received a Certificate of Attendance and Incentive Awards, provided by ERP Academy - vouchers for elective courses.
The award in the Journalistic Contribution category was awarded to journalist Veronika Denizova by Bloomberg TV for objective coverage of information and for in-depth analysis of trends, risks and future prospects for the ICT sector.
The educational award was awarded to the project I Know. Through it, the three enthusiasts Angel Georgiev, Victor Balabanov and Ivan Yonkov, who wish to make a significant change in the way children in Bulgaria study their subjects and apply their knowledge outside the school environment.
Public Administration - The award was given to the Privacy Commission for the GDPR mobile application in your pocket under the SMEDATA project, which is the first comprehensive information solution for clarification and practical advice on European data protection legislation.
StartUp The winner company is I Rise Mechanics 357. The award goes to the company for their product OMNIBOT, which is a new generation of robotic mobilization device for people with lower limb dysfunction.
